| Where she came from: Mary worked as a professional ballet dancer in the Midwest until 1998. Having dabbled with backpacking and rock climbing, she decided to attend a semester Outward Bound course. She was shocked to realize that people actually got paid to rock climb and that climbing was equally as physically and mentally challenging as ballet. |
|
Where shes been: Mary has climbed across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, guiding and climbing everything from long alpine rock and ice routes, to glaciated high peaks, to sport climbing. |
| How she lives: Her passions include offwidth climbing, long adventure routes, aid climbing, strong coffee, trail running, mountain biking, and watercolor painting. She does yoga to stay sane, and lives out of a restored 1984 Volkswagon Vanagon. |
